Ukhozi Lodge is a superior four-star graded lodge located in the 10 000 hectare malaria-free Kariega Private Game Reserve. The reserve which is only a one hour drive from Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape, teems with wildlife including the famous Big Five, ensuring an unforgettable safari experience.
Ukhozi Lodge boasts ten well-appointed Luxury Suites that were uniquely crafted from log and feature a king-size bed or twin beds, an en-suite bathroom with shower and bathtub, air-conditioning, minibar, in-room safe, tea & coffee making facilities, hairdryer, and a private deck with plunge pool.
The lodge facilities include a unique African-style lounge, a spacious dining area, an outdoor boma, and a swimming pool.
Activities offered at the lodge include early morning and afternoon/evening open-vehicle game drives led by professional guides, river cruises, canoeing, fishing, and guided bush walks that affords up-close encounters with the fauna, flora and smaller wondrous creatures of the African bush.
Kariega Game Reserve is a wildlife sanctuary for an abundance of animals including lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo, leopard, hippo, hyena, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, eland, kudu, waterbuck and a variety of other antelope, as well as a myriad of bird species including the nesting crowned eagle, martial and fish eagles. You will explore many different habitats highlighting five different ecosystems - valley bushveld, savannah grasslands, fynbos, riverine forests and acacia woodland.
