Old Drift Lodge is a bush paradise situated on the banks of the Zambezi river, with passing wildlife on your doorstep, speaks in tones of luxury tied together by the area’s rich heritage.

Bird chatter is your wake-up call, the sounds of the bush your lullaby while the radiating hues of romance creates an atmosphere of pure indulgence.

The natural utopia offers family-friendly accommodation with 10 luxury double tented suites and 4 family suites with two inter-leading rooms, separated by a sliding canvas door. Sumptuousness can be experienced under and throughout. Each en-suite tent – dotted along the Zambezi River – seamlessly fits in with nature with raised wooden walkways flattened to ground level here and there in favor of crossing wildlife. Inside the tents of Old Drift Lodge you will find a bedroom and a living area. The bathroom is an other-worldly experience; with its touches of copper and corrugated iron, from the indoor to the outdoor showers and the free-standing claw-footed bathtub (with a view), a time slot in your itinerary for some bubbly relaxation is a given. Step outside and feel the touch of the morning’s first light from your private deck and plunge into your private pool while soaking in the sweeping river views.

The spacious and airy main area of Old Drift Lodge – with its 360-degree views over the Zambezi and a waterhole – calls for moments to become everlasting memories. There is a sunken lounge around a fire pit, an al fresco deck to enjoy your meals (all included in the rate) as well as an indoor bar and dining area with a fireplace. The lodge also boasts a private spa where bliss awaits, a gym and Wi-Fi.

As the closest lodge to the Victoria Falls, within the Zambezi National Park, a visit to this UNESCO World Heritage Site should be top priority and a guided tour of the rain forest and thundering falls is included in your stay. There are complimentary transfers to town, and since the lodge is owned by tour operator, Wild Horizons, a world of activities – from extremely adventurous to something a bit more calming – is on offer. Also included are two scheduled safari experiences per day; to get an immersive African wildlife encounter guests can choose between a river safari, a guided bush walk or a game drive.

Old Drift Lodge is whole-heartedly committed to community and conservation and supports various projects focusing on the people and wildlife. The lodge also follows some eco-friendly steps onsite – like the use of solar heating, grey water and having an organic vegetable garden – to lessen its impact on the environment.
