Speke’s Camp is situated on the boundary of the famous Maasai Mara Reserve, surrounded by fabulous indigenous trees overhanging the Olare Orok River. The camp setup is designed to be eco-friendly and reduce waste.
Speke’s Camp is situated on the boundary of the famous Maasai Mara Reserve, surrounded by fabulous indigenous trees overhanging the Olare Orok River. The Camp is a traditional styled safari camp offering a high level of service and cuisine.
The camp is intimate and personable. All tents are very spacious, with a closet, luggage rack, a desk and beautiful seating area. Accommodation is eight comfortable & traditional glamping tents, either double, twin or family tents.
All tents have large spacious bathrooms with traditional safari bucket showers, hot water & flush toilets. Each tent comes with a personal room steward to look after you during your stay.
Speke’s is a 10 minute game drive from the main reserve. Designed with privacy and nature in mind.
Aside from arguably some of the best game viewing in the world, Speke’s camp offers a comfortable and pleasant base for exploring the Mara with wonderful sundowners, picnics and bush breakfasts whilst on game drives in this fabulous wildlife location. Enjoy fine dining in the evening with a three course meal under the stars. For lunch the camp offers various vegetarian dishes. With most of the produce grown on site! Breakfast is a full english and the fruits of the season
Safari trails are set up so that our clients can experience two very different styles of Safari in one holiday. Game viewing in a vehicle then step onto the trail for slow travel. Slow travel allows one to have a deeper connection to their surroundings, a more hands-on experience of the landscape, climate, way of life & culture. One can discover hidden pockets of their surroundings, new & exciting places all off the beaten track – no queues, no entrance fee, no crowds – just you and the African wilderness. Resident guides are eager to share their customs and cultures with you. Learn how they read the landscape, listen to the stories of their forefathers.
