What our guests have said about this accommodation

Tommie Hayward
We enjoyed the stay at Lower Sabie Camp very much, and had a wonderful time in the Kruger Park
Bahia Fitchen
Guided walks and nights drives were great and set the tone for our Kruger getaway. Learnt a great deal on the walk. Travis and Pietrus were brilliant. Facilities were clean and staff friendly. Lower Sabie is a fantastic camp.. although wish Mugg & Bean wasn't the official restaurant - as it's too commercial. But the staff were fabulous and what a view from the deck!
Brian Watson
Helpful and very friendly staff. The bungalow was excellently located on the perimeter. A vey good visit even though there is a very severe drought.
VAL RUNKEL
Kitchen needs new cupoards and the whole place feels old and shabby. Staff friendly and efficient.
Alexandra Blackie
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lower Sabie.
Janice van Drunick
What an amazing experience we had at Lower Sabie Rest Camp and the entire stay at the Park. Thank you for your friendliness and superb facilities.
Peter Edwards
lucky enough to get a bungalow with a view. Bungalow could have used some better maintenance (comment valid for all camps. The cleaning is good, but the facilities are well used and sometimes a bit decrepit)
Doreen Ford
Comfortable better cooking facility. Good beds nice clean bathroom. Would choose river tents next time look out not as pretty as talboti camp. But enjoyed our stay
Albert Putter
We visited KNP in January and it was awesome. Chalet was clean and equiped with everything necessary. Home away from home. Really enjoyed our stay and will be back soon.
Danie Pretorius
.I am an experienced and well traveled Kruger park visitor. However, what I experienced now at Lower Sabie changed my family's lives. Camped with my "boswa" close to nature at very affordable rates. Holiday traffic was just over and all visitors and staff went out of their way to make our visit special - reflecting respect for each other. Gained another few years in my live expectancy. Want to mention game warden Craig and camp employee Eckson specially. In sweltering heat and with hard ground for the tent pegs Eckson came out of his own accord and assisted these 3 "old timers" . On the morning of our exit we had a flat tyre. Again he came to our assistance and removed the tyre and went and fixed it and brought it back to us repaired - always a friendly smile. The passion and love that Craig has for his work is contagious and can be seen in all the people around him. From trying to rescue a snared wild dog - to prosecuting some irresponsible guys who drove directly into the bush way off the road to have a closer view of lions - to the way he treat people with respect and assist- making time for everyone - it is what the Kruger is for me all about. We had fantastic viewing of a wide variety of animals in the near vicinity of Lower Sabie. Needless to say - everything that we need and want to live and experience can be done from Lower Sabie and that will be our basis for all future visits. Already planning to bring my children and grand children with us for next visit. Thanks again.
Leonardus Voncken

We enjoyed our stay in Lower Sabie very much. Your staff all over the Park should be commended for their friendly and helpful service. We do feel that some maintenance work is needed in your ablutions in the camping area however. We will visit the park again. Thank you for a pleasurable stay.
Diane Venter

PATRICIA AUGHEY

Mandi Macdonald
Accommodation was really nice and clean, linen was clean.
Chris Fall
The unit is situated with the most amazing view. The unit itself is a quite tired, but it looks as if Lower Sabie is re-doing its tented camp. I would highly recommend getting a unit on the fence line as you can see so many animal from it - Elephant playing in the water, leopard lazing in the sun, buffalo and those are the highlights.
Tina Human
it was a pleasure to visit the park! Under Sabie camp was very good as was all the camps we visited as day visitors. the accommodation was very good and the staff is fantastic! the only problem if had is that we did not have hot water in the evenings, or for that matter after 11 in the mornings!
Lyn Roodt
Service at reception was excellent, Camp at the tents was clean and beautiful. Loved it!!
Michael Ray
Had a fabulous time. It was good to see the continued significant improvements being made on a continuous basis in the chalets. We went on a sundown game drive with San Parks, and saw 2 lions, 2 leopards, 2 genets, 1 civet, a rhino and others. The Mugg & Bean restaurant coped admirably well with the volume of people requiring food. Well done!
David
A brilliantly experience affording a unique opportunity to enjoy nature in all its splendor. A must visit on any trip to the Kruger National Park.
Corrie Hildebrandt

Jan Serfontein
Very basic, better than a tent. everything was clean. Camp quiet after 21H00. Not my type of over-night, but had no other option.
Lydia Dunn
First time in this camp and our next trip will definitely stay over in Lower Sabie. I loved the accommodation and its at the river. So peaceful and clean and everything we wanted. Thanks so much for making our six days stay in the different camps so relaxing.
Mrs Ryder
We enjoy our time fully in the Camp as well as the park just very upset about the closure of Afsaal picnic spot as we do make it one of our spot to visit in the Park otherwise we enjoyed the visit in the park.
Diana Robertson
Lovely tented camp, clean and comfortable. Nice to have a Mugg & Bean.

We had a wonderful stay at the camp, the staff was excellent! We are all very grateful to Rofhiwa at reception, the cleaning ladies, Travis, Dingaan, Prince and another gentlemen from Mug and Bean for organising and outstanding bush braai for our group! Excellent service and excellent experience! Thank you!
Eugene Caunter
Always enjoy staying at Lower Sabie because of its proximity to the river. The camp is clean and well maintained and the personnel friendly and helpful.
IAN Collie
Have been visiting the Park for many years but have not stayed in one of your camps for maybe 30 years. Loved your safari tents at Lower Sabie. We will return soon. Regards I K Collie
JAN
Very nice setting. Will come again.
Jimmy Gurr
We paid & booked FU5 family bungalow. We were given Bungalo 1 with no explanation. It was dirty, full of wasps and the grass had not been cut, No1 is not even marked on the map. The spare room had 2 beds that you could not open the cupboard or close the door. When I complained they gave me the Eish. Heard from one staff member there where rats in FU5. After tracking down the duty manager and inspecting FU5 the vermon where quirrels. So after fixing the aircons we moved in. We will never go back to Lower Sabie again. If you want pictures of the outside of 1&2 I will send them.
Pieter Cronje
Nice stay. Very dissapionted in the bathrooms

David Wise
What a lovely camp. We had a beautiful tent with a great river view and then a weaver bird spent 2 days building a nest just in font of us. Just an idyllic place.
Henco Cronje
Excellent camp for viewing game which is in abundance close to the camp. Accommodation was excellent. Ablution facility is however not to the same standard as what was available at Pretoriuskop Restcamp
Mel Pereira
Excellent!
De La Port Yvette
All staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent facilities. Booking through Kruger.com was bliss. Thank you
Simon Miller
The staff were efficient and helpful on arrival, which made a great first impression. We appreciated having the Mugg & Bean available for meals, and were impressed with the quality of service received. The only downside to the trip was the lack of cleanliness in the Lower Sabie toilets and showers - not terrible, but could be better. Good trip overall though.
Marieke van der Merwe
Was great!
Jaco Prinsloo
Very nice.
LOUBIGNAC ISABELLE
Nice camp with a good atmosphere. The swimming pool was not very clean
Gerhard Nel
Was looking for a place to put my caravan closer to the bush or river with no power point and closer to a bush experience , little bit away from the sound of traffic, like where those bush tents are. but we enjoyed it, and the friendly people just made our stay so worthwhile.
THOMAS HAVVAS
Our stay at Lower Sabie was most enjoyable. We can't fault this restcamp in any way. Our bungalow was comfortable (N89) and everything worked. On the whole a 5 for Lower Sabie. A small criticism - We found the River Front and deck area dominated by the restaurant ( M&B). We feel that this arrangement restricts access to the most favourable spot at the camp.
LINDA CRAWFORD
Absolutely LOVED the tent camp. Couldn't have had a better place to stay. Really enjoyed guide Griselda on our sunset drive.
Mrs RE Venter
Dear madam ,sir, Me and husband realy enjoyed our trip in the park, and it is a first time that we saw the big amount of game. Unfortunately we didn't see the cat families. I just wish to tel you where we needed any assistance everyone was very friendly and helped us. Thankyou for a lovely time in the park. Mrs RE Venter
Monique Venter
Loved it

Good day We had a very good time in the park. We enjoyed the drives daily. The quietness in the park and the fact that you can really unwind when you are in the park is magic. We had a good rest and its always sad when it is time to go home. We have been visitors for many years in the Park and every time it is an amazing experience. We have been to Letaba, Satara, Pretoriuskop, Berg and Dal and the camps are kept clean and are well looked after. However which was disappointing is the fact that the one bathroom (small one), was quite neglected in Lower Sabie. We however did see that renovations was happening. Another concern was the overall look of the camp in Lower Sabie. The grass was tall and the garden was not well looked after. What we also missed, in the past we could go and sit on the Deck which overlooked the Sabie River, but with “Mug and Bean” now the new franchise, you can no longer just visit without needing to order something. I really miss that. Have a wonderful day and see you soon
Alida Mendes
Bungalow was new so it was great. The camp site was untidy. Restaurant good.
Gavin Bailey
Top stuff.
Joan Houston
Overall our accommodation was very good and comfortable. The SANParks staff were most efficient. A little problem was that our veranda was a favourite spot for bats. Insecticide has been hung under the eaves to deter them. The camp manager, Mr Ramutsi was most understanding and concerned when I reported this, and assured me that he was pressing on to rid all the chalets of bats. Their efforts had been 90% successful and we were just unfortunate to have some on our veranda. However, we sat further out and avoided their droppings.
Tom Stones
First time we have stayed in tents at Lower Sabie, we stayed in one that hadn't been renovated. Not too bad for a unit that is quite old. What I would like to see most is a more comfortable chair on the deck.
Clinton McKeon
We stayed In Lower Sabie at the start of the trip in the Kruger National Park, and was a great experience. The chalets are very comfortable, the staff are incredible and helpful. We were really impressed since we left behind our Ipad by mistake and just realised about it at the end of that day when we arrived, we called reception to explained the situation and after half an hour they located the item for us. We arranged to pick it up on our way out from the park, and when we did that the Ipad was waiting for us in a perfect condition. Thank you so much!
Timothy Southey
Best value for money by far.

We only stayed one night in this camp but I can really recommend staying longer. The house was really nice and clean, good braai area and nice hot shower. Also the park facilities were good, restaurant / shop. Plus we saw lots of animals (also big 5) in the area.

My husband & I always enjoy our stays in KNP, we have always maintained that Lower Sabie is the best camp, even more so now that they have Mug & Bean!!! So nice and clean and well run.
