A short flight from Johannesburg’s OR Tambo Airport brings you to the world-renowned Kruger National Park where your Big 5 African safari begins.

Often referred to as ‘The Smoke that Thunders”, you will spend the next two days exploring the beauty of Victoria Falls. Nestled on the mighty Zambezi River, Sussi and Chuma Lodge offers convenient access to the Falls and unique tree-house accommodation with views of the river and surrounding bushveld.  

Activities to enjoy during your stay include game drives in the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park to view the varied wildlife, sunset river cruises, walking safaris, fishing, and guided excursions to the awe-inspiring Victoria Falls are offered, as well as cultural tours of Livingstone and the Maramba Village. Other adventure activities such as bungee jumping and white water rafting can also be arranged.

Rounding off your trip to Southern Africa is a visit to the “Mother City” city of Cape Town, perched beneath one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature - Table Mountain National Park. Cape Town is a perfect combination of beautiful beaches, lush Winelands, couture cuisine and exhilarating adventures.

The Victoria and Alfred Waterfront is a vibrant attraction with a world-class shopping mall and market, plentiful dining options, historic walking tours, Two Oceans Aquarium and is the departure point for the ferry to the renowned Robben Island.

Itinerary

Day 1 - 3: Kruger National Park, South Africa

Your journey begins this morning as you take a short flight from Johannesburg's' OR Tambo Airport to the Kruger National Park. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your lodge. Depending on your time of arrival, you may get to venture out on your first afternoon game drive in the African bush. Be sure to have your camera ready as your guide and tracker take you off-road in search of the Big 5 and other interesting animals and bird species.

You will spend the next two days exploring the Kruger and the private reserve on exhilarating early morning and late afternoon game drives. After breakfast, you have the opportunity to partake in a guided bush walk which is sure to awaken your senses and provide you with a better understanding of the African bush. Perhaps you may wish to visit a local community and interact with local South Africans, learning about their way of life. The next two days are yours to indulge in amazing cuisine, relax beside the pool, or enjoy a back massage.

Day 4 - 6: Victoria Falls, Zambia

After one final morning game drive at Lion Sands River Lodge followed by a delicious breakfast, you transfer back to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport and fly to Livingstone Airport in Zambia. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to Sussi and Chuma which nestles on the banks of the Zambezi River. You will spend the next two days exploring the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, the iconic Victoria Falls, and enjoy an array of river activities. There is so much to see and do in this adventure capital.

Day 7 - 10: Cape Town, South Africa

This morning you bid farewell to the "Smoke that Thunders" and transfer to Victoria Falls Airport for a flight to Cape Town International Airport. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your waterfront hotel. Perhaps this afternoon you will venture up Table Mountain to witness the breathtaking views over the "Mother City".

You have the next two days to venture out and explore the city. We suggest taking a tour of the Cape Peninsula with beautiful scenery and an up-close view of the African penguin colony. Another firm favorite is a tour of the Cape Winelands, with century-old vineyards, award-winning wines, and exquisite cuisine. Day 11: Depart Cape Town, South Africa

After breakfast this morning, and perhaps some last minute shopping, you will bid farewell to Cape Town and transfer back to the airport as you begin your journey back home. You may leave with a heavy heart, but the experiences you have had stay etched in your heart for a lifetime.
