This short trip is tailored for those who are short of time or those looking for a great post-trip extension after a wildlife safari in Kenya, Tanzania or South Africa.
Enjoy deeply moving experiences when you come face-to-face on foot with endangered mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. This safari includes flights over the beautiful highlands of Uganda boasting incredible rugged terrains and an opportunity to take a community walk and interact with the locals.
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by our representative who will transfer you to hotel in Entebbe.
We have several optional activities around Entebbe that you could engage in depending on your flight arrival time and these include; a day trip to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary, birding at the botanical gardens and for keen birders, a visit Mabamba swamp to catch sight of the rare shoebill and plenty of other bird species is a must see.
Enjoy an early breakfast and transfer to airport for your domestic flight to Kisoro. Flight time is approximated 1 hour.
On your arrival in Kisoro you will be welcomed by an expert guide and head for a community tour that includes a visit to a coffee farm. At the coffee farm, you will have the opportunity to learn about the sustainable farming practices in the Virunga massif which is a great way to promote social change through ecotourism.
After the tour, you will transfer to the Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge arriving in time for lunch & time to enjoy panoramic views of the Bwindi Forest. A recently proclaimed World Heritage site, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is one of the most biologically diverse areas on earth and its unique, precious flora sustains roughly half of the world population of mountain gorillas – believed to number just 600. There’s also a substantial chimpanzee population and research shows that Bwindi is the only forest in Africa in which these two apes live together.
Following an early breakfast at the lodge, you will drive to the park headquarters for a morning briefing from the rangers before you enter the gorilla sanctuary.
Throughout the trek, you will be accompanied by experienced guides and trackers who will offer insightful information about the endangered mountain gorillas. Once you have found the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend 1 hour observing them from a 10-meter distance. The thrill of your encounter will erase the difficulties of the potentially strenuous trek.
Each encounter is different and has its own rewards, but you are likely to enjoy the close view of adults feeding, grooming, and resting as the youngsters frolic and swing from vines in a delightfully playful display. After tracking transfer back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
After an early breakfast, depart Bwindi to Kisoro Airstrip for your scheduled flight back to Entebbe International Airport.

Pascal John at Safari.com guided me on different safari lodges (experience, rating), and most importantly knew about specials (buy 3 nights, get 4th for free) which allowed my family to secure a 5-star location at a more reasonable rate. Great advice, responsive and knowledgeable!
