Day 1: Arrival at Simbavati Cederberg Ridge

‍

Arrive at Simbavati Cederberg Ridge Wilderness Lodge in Clanwilliam and settle into your Classic Courtyard Room. After a delicious lunch of a variety of freshly prepared, mouth-watering salads, as well as mezze platters served at the lodge, take some time and explore the property. Guests can use the complimentary mountain bikes to explore the scenic trails.

Enjoy a sundowner walk in the Cederberg Wilderness Reserve in the evening, where you can take in the excellent views as the sun sets. 

As dinner time approaches, choose from the a la carte menu for an unforgettable dining food experience and cap off the night with complimentary stargazing, taking in the clear, starry skies.

Day 2: Rock Art & Rooibos Experience

Begin your day with a hearty, fresh and delicious breakfast before embarking on a morning excursion to explore ancient rock art sites in the Cederberg. Learn about the fascinating history and culture of the San people through their remarkable rock paintings. 

‍

Return to the lodge for yet another lunch, and in the afternoon, enjoy a guided tour of a nearby rooibos farm. Discover the origins of this famous South African tea, from the farming process to the final product, with a chance to sample some freshly brewed rooibos.

Day 3: Full-Day Cederberg Adventure

After breakfast, set out on a full-day excursion into the heart of the Cederberg. This adventure will take you through dramatic mountain ranges, unique rock formations, and hidden valleys. Enjoy a packed lunch in the wilderness, immersing yourself in the tranquility of nature.

Return to the lodge in the late afternoon, where you can unwind before dinner and spend another evening stargazing.

Day 4: Boating & Farm Tour

‍

Start your day with a relaxing morning, perhaps dip in the pool or enjoy the lodge's serene surroundings. After lunch, head out for a boating excursion on one of the nearby dams (available during summer).  Glide across the water, soaking in the peaceful ambiance and beauty.

In the late afternoon, embark on a farm tour where you can learn more about the agricultural practices in the region. Return to the lodge for your final dinner and a quiet evening.

Day 5: Guided Walk & Departure

‍

On your last morning, enjoy a guided walk through the Cederberg Wilderness Reserve, where you can appreciate the local flora and fauna and perhaps spot some wildlife. After the walk, return to the lodge for a final breakfast before checking out. 

‍

Depending on your departure time, you might have a chance for one last stroll around the property or some relaxation before bidding farewell to this beautiful retreat.
