This creates a unique blend of natural beauty, adventure, and cultural experiences
Benguerra Island offers a tropical paradise setting. which also means it has two seasons, the dry season (April to October) and the hot season (November to March)
The dry season sees cooler temperatures and less humidity, with daytime temperatures typically ranging from 25°C to 30°C (77°F to 86°F). It's a great time for diving and snorkelling as the water visibility is often better.
The hot season is more humid daytime temperatures often exceeding 30°C (86°F) and brief but heavy afternoon showers.
Despite being the wet season, it's a fantastic time for birdwatching as many migratory birds are present on the island. However, the increased humidity and possibility of cyclones during these months (especially January to March) might not be ideal for every traveller.
Diving & Marine Life:
Benguerra Island is the second-largest island in the Bazaruto Archipelago. Located off the southeastern coast of Mozambique in the Indian Ocean.
Your journey will typically start by flying into Mozambique's capital, Maputo (Maputo International Airport, MPM ) or directly to Vilankulo Airport (VNX) if there are direct flights available.
By Air: The quickest way to get from Vilankulo to Benguerra Island is by a short helicopter or light aircraft transfer. This scenic trip usually takes about 10 to 15 minutes, offering a spectacular aerial view of the turquoise waters and the islands.
By Boat: Alternatively, you can opt for a boat transfer, which can be a picturesque and more leisurely way to reach the island. This trip can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the type of boat and weather conditions.

Great advice, responsive and knowledgeable!
Pascal John at Safari.com guided me on different safari lodges (experience, rating), and most importantly knew about specials (buy 3 nights, get 4th for free) which allowed my family to secure a 5-star location at a more reasonable rate. Great advice, responsive and knowledgeable!
