In the eastern section of the vast Okavango Delta, lies Moremi Game Reserve, a region of startling contrasts - a waterless center of Savannah and dry woodland surrounded by lily-filled waterways, scattered floodplains, lagoons, riverine forest and palm-fringed islands. Chief Island is one of these islands and considered as having the finest game-viewing in Southern Africa.
Consistently rated by Condé Nast Traveller as one of the top safari destinations in Botswana, Chief’s offers guests superb service, fine cuisine, luxurious accommodation and superb opportunities to view the Big Five, all in splendid seclusion.
Chief’s Camp offers ten Luxury Pavilions and a Luxury Suite positioned in a shady jackalberry and sausage tree woodland.
The Luxury Pavilions offer four-poster beds draped with mosquito netting, an en-suite bathroom with a bathtub and outdoor shower, a sitting area, air conditioning, overhead fans, private dining area, and a viewing deck with comfortable seating and a terrace pool.
The Geoffrey Kent Luxury Suite offers complete privacy and supreme comfort for up to six guests. Additional features to the suite include a kitchen, indoor lounge, private boma and secluded deck areas. The suite comes equipped with a private vehicle, guide, chef, waiter and housekeeper.
The camp facilities include a bar, library, dining area, swimming pool, spa, and a split-level main deck boasting expansive views over the winding waterways on the floodplain.
Expert guides accompany guests on early morning and late afternoon game drives in the local area, known as the ‘predator capital’ of Africa. In season, tranquil mokoro trips provide a soothing way of viewing the multitude of water birds and pods of grunting hippos up close and afford a view of the plains wildlife from the water.
The lodge can organize scenic helicopter flights over the delta, exposing guests to spectacular aerial views of areas unreachable by vehicle or boat.
Large numbers of plains game and predators are found throughout the year. After the recent introduction of rhino to this concession, the area is home to the Big Five. Predators abound and include several lion prides, leopards, cheetah, hyena, and the rare and endangered Wild dog. Large herds of elephant and buffalo, frequent the area. Blue wildebeest, steenbok, giraffe, greater kudu, impala, Burchell's zebra and tsessebe abound, and the region’s flood levels attract the much-sought-after water-dwelling antelope species such as sitatunga and red lechwe.
The area is home to over 400 species of birds, including the African fish eagle, Bateleur, Crested and Wattled cranes, Black-tailed godwit, Sacred ibis, Green pigeon and the rare and elusive Pel’s fishing owl.
Sanctuary Chief's Camp is ideal for solo explorers, couples, and families looking for a luxury safari getaway.
Accommodation, all meals, non-alcoholic and alcoholic (with exception of premium brands and Champagne), all game viewing activities, laundry services, emergency medical evacuation, park fees and airstrip transfers

Great advice, responsive and knowledgeable!
Pascal John at Safari.com guided me on different safari lodges (experience, rating), and most importantly knew about specials (buy 3 nights, get 4th for free) which allowed my family to secure a 5-star location at a more reasonable rate. Great advice, responsive and knowledgeable!
